Evgeny Beleninov
was born on October 13, 1985, in Moscow. He received his first guitar lessons at the age of ten from A. Gitman at the Svjatoslav Richter Music School in Moscow and later studied at the Moscow A. Schnittke College of Music with Prof. N. Komoljatov. In 2005, he began studying classical guitar with Prof. Eugenia Kanthou at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin, where he graduated with honors in 2012. From 2008 to 2010, he was also a student of Prof. Hubert Käppel at the Koblenz International Guitar Academy.
He has attended masterclasses with David Russell, Konrad Ragossnig, Thomas Müller-Pering, Marco Tamayo, Zoran Dukic, and Carlo Marchione. In 2008, he was awarded a scholarship by the Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now Berlin e.V. association, performing as a soloist and chamber musician. He won prizes at international guitar competitions, including the 8th Guitar Festival Gevelsberg and the Guitar Competition Nürtingen, and performed multiple times at the Excellence Concert (under the patronage of Daniel Barenboim) at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin.
Highlights of his concert career include performing Joaquín Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranjuez with the Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie and an appearance at the Hamburger Gitarrentage in 2018. He has also been a frequent guest at the Altenburg Music Festival and regularly performs in the concert series Klassische Gitarre in Essen.
In 2017, he released his debut CD Paris Buenos Aires, featuring works by Astor Piazzolla and Heitor Villa-Lobos, on the Barteltmusic label. He also recorded a CD with former Konzerthausorchester Berlin concertmaster Mikhail Sekler, featuring works by Bach and Paganini.
In addition to his solo and chamber music performances, Evgeny Beleninov has played concerts with soprano Simone Kermes and accompanied renowned singers such as Roman Trekel and Äneas Humm.
He holds a teaching position at the Hanns Eisler School of Music Berlin and teaches at the Bach-Gymnasium on behalf of the university.
Besides his musical career, Evgeny Beleninov is also a professional videographer, specializing in classical music productions. He has collaborated with prestigious labels such as Deutsche Grammophon, Warner Classics, and Audite, producing high-quality video recordings for musicians and ensembles.
